The opening round of the Fairtrade Quiz will be to design a Fairtrade product and supply chain. You can pick any product, such as chocolate, footballs, coffee or a new product that has no fairtrade product.
You will design the supply chain and think about how much each part of the supply chain is paid. In regular capitalism the wealthier parts of the supply chain tend to receive most of the income from the product, whilst those who grow products like coffee receive very little money for their labour.
What will each part of the supply chain do? What will they get paid? Will parts of the money paid be ringfenced for certain activities, like infrastructure spending?
Don’t worry about details, the important thing is to think about how the fairtrade supply chain works. Pretty pictures would be appreciated as would flow chart arrows.
